Privacy
Last updated: 30 September 2026
The short version. Edupogo has no accounts and asks for no email address. Your child's name, age, grade and learning needs are stored on their own device and nowhere else. Their name is never sent anywhere. Questions go to an AI provider to be answered, and we keep no copy. There are no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Deleting the app deletes everything.
What stays on the device
When a grown-up sets up Edupogo, they enter a first name, whether they are a parent, teacher or the child, and optionally an age and grade. They can also tell us how the child learns best — for example dyslexia, ADHD or autism — so Pogo can adapt his explanations.
All of that is written to storage on the device itself. It is not sent to us, we have no copy of it, and we could not retrieve it if you asked. The child's name never leaves the device at all.
What happens when your child asks a question
The question is sent to our server, which passes it straight to an AI provider — Anthropic, or OpenAI if Anthropic is unavailable — and returns the answer.
Sent along with the question: the subject, the child's age and grade if you gave them, and any learning needs you selected, so that the answer is pitched correctly. Not sent: the child's name, or anything identifying them or your household.
Our server keeps no database and no record of conversations. Nothing is written down, so there is nothing to retain, sell or lose. The AI providers process the text to generate the answer under their own terms, and children's conversations are not used to train AI models.
What we never collect
- Email addresses — there is no sign-up
- Last names, addresses, phone numbers or photographs
- Location, of any precision
- Contacts, social media accounts, or anything else on the device
- Analytics, advertising identifiers or behavioural tracking of any kind
No advertising, no data sales
Edupogo carries no advertising. We do not sell, rent or share information about children with anyone, for any purpose. There is no advertising network in the app and no third-party tracker.
Payments
Subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your card number, billing address or any payment detail. Apple tells us only whether a subscription is active.
Deleting your child's information
Because everything is stored on the device and nothing on our servers, deleting the app removes all of it, permanently and immediately. There is no account left behind, nothing for us to erase and nothing to request.
We are adding an in-app button to clear a profile without removing the app. Until it ships, deleting the app is the complete answer.
Children's privacy
Edupogo is designed around the principles behind the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR): collect as little as possible, keep it close to the child, and never turn children into an audience to be sold.
Edupogo is intended to be set up by a parent, guardian or teacher, who chooses what to enter and can decline the optional questions.
Changes
If what we collect ever changes, this page changes first, and the date at the top changes with it.
